Chief Justice stresses the need for sincerity in justice delivery

The Chief Justice of the Maldives Ahmed Muthasim Adnan has underscored the paramount importance and significant responsibility entrusted to judges to deliver justice with utmost honesty and sincerity. These remarks were made during the inaugural ceremony of the Magistrate Court in Bandidhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.

The new Magistrate Court, built as part of the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP), aims to alleviate space constraints, further enhancing the facilities provided to the judiciary.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Justice emphasised that sincerity, honesty, and fairness are critical obligations and responsibilities for every judge, highlighting the need to amend administrative processes in the legal sector to keep pace with generational changes.

Moreover, as part of his visit to Dhaalu Atoll, the Chief Justice visited several islands to gain a thorough understanding of the functioning of island magistrate courts. He also met with magistrates and court employees, discussing their operations and challenges.

Accompanying the Chief Justice on this official trip were esteemed officials, including Supreme Court Justice Husnu Al Suood, Judicial Administrator Aishath Rizna, Secretary General of the Supreme Court Izmira Shiham, and Secretary General of the Judicial Service Commission Aminath Nada.
