Foreign Minister visits India to boost bilateral ties

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has arrived on an official trip to India.

The visit comes upon the invitation of Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar and stands as Minister Zameer's inaugural official visit to a foreign nation since assuming office. The Minister was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by Additional Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Puneet Agrawal and other high-ranking officials, Minister Zameer expressed his commitment to fostering the enduring friendship between India and the Maldives.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister Zameer stated the objectives of the visit, emphasising the desire to bolster the longstanding bilateral ties between India and the Maldives. He underscored the agenda's focus on strengthening bilateral relations and expediting Indian aid initiatives in the Maldives. He also highlighted the ongoing implementation of numerous projects in the Maldives supported by India's grants and loans, stressing the need to expedite their completion.

The visit is expected to conclude on May 10, marking the ongoing collaboration between India and the Maldives.
