Appointment letters given to nine ambassadors

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed nine ambassadors for countries and international organisations.

The appointed ambassadors are as follows:
1. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Arab Nations
2. Dr. Iruthisham Adam, High Commissioner of the Maldives to the United Kingdom
3. Dr. Fazeel Najee, Ambassador of the Maldives to the People's Republic of China
4. Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Nations
5. Geela Ali, Ambassador of the Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and European Union
6. Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, High Commissioner of the Maldives to Malaysia
7. Masood Imad, High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka
8. Dr. Salma Rasheed, Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Nations in Geneva
9. Mohamed Luweiz, High Commissioner of the Maldives to Singapore

The ambassadors were appointment by the President at a special ceremony held at the Presidential Office today. 8 out of the 9 appointed ambassadors were given a unanimous approval of the Parliament on April 29. Meanwhile, the appointed ambassadors to China, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia were given the Parliament's approval on May 6.
