Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has announced to give a 10% discount on the electricity bills for April.
In a statement released by MWCS the discount was given, following the decision of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to reduce the current bills for the company, during the Holy month of Ramadan. As such, while over USD 916,000 was given as discount, this contributes to 24.5% of the bills in the domestic category.
MWSC revealed that decisions have been such that while a 10% discount will be provided to the utility bills similar to that of Ramadan, this applies for the first bill sent to those who newly installed utility services, if the bill is from last month. It further disclosed that households will be given the discounts for the bills between April 12 and May 12. MWSC has been providing utility services to Dhuvaafaru in Raa Atoll, Maafushi in Kaafu Atoll, Kulhudhuffushi City and the Male' City region.
In accordance with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s directive, companies have implemented reductions in electricity bills compared to previous months and are actively working to address billing concerns.
