Minister affirms Dhivehi Language to be the key factor uniting people

Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has affirmed 'Dhivehi Language' to be the key factor in uniting the people. These remarks were delivered at a ceremony held by the Dhivehibahuge Ekedamee to commemorate Dhivehi Language day.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister emphasised that the mother tongue plays a pivotal role in the substantial advancements and modernisations in any nation. He further emphasised the significance of the Dhivehi Language in strengthening the collective spirit and the national affection of the people.

Moreover, the Minister stressed the importance of preserving Dhivehi language, underscoring its significance to upholding the sovereignty and freedom of the Maldives.

Additionally, Minister asserted the need to facilitate Dhivehi books such as Faiythoora in online platform, citing the current state of usage of the dialect.

Minister expressed heartfelt appreciation for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for his proactive role in enhancing Dhivehi Language, highlighting the new words that have come to light.
