The ruling coalition, People's National Congress (PNC) has secured several a number of seats in the parliamentary elections.
The preliminary results released indicate that PNC has achieved a huge success in securing positions in which the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has defended for years. The current results showed that PNC has successfully achieved the majority of the representative positions of Male', Addu City and various atolls as well. Based on the outcomes of the majority of polling stations, it can be observed that PNC candidates hold a significant lead in comparison with other candidates.
While PNC candidates are successfully leading several constituencies, some candidates who contested individually are also leading in some constituencies.
