Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has revealed 247 out of 509 cases examined over the past five years were resolved. JSC has released its annual report for the year 2023, shedding light on the progress made in resolving cases and outlining future objectives.
According to the report, the examination of the 50 cases submitted in 2023 has commenced, with 35 cases already completed. These cases encompass a variety of issues, including allegations against judges and matters requiring further investigation. In 2022, out of the 70 cases submitted, 24 were resolved, while 64 remained pending.
Among the cases reviewed by the JSC in the previous year, several allegations surfaced, including 16 cases related to integrity violations, one case of corruption, 10 claims of failure to fulfill responsibilities and duties, one complaint regarding participation in political events, and 16 cases of non-compliance with constitutional laws.
Moreover, JSC outlined its goals to be achieved by 2024, which include the digitalisation of judges' HR systems and financial statements, as well as the implementation of performance monitoring mechanisms for judges.
