Islamic minister declares he will not tolerate any corruption

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has upheld that the ministry will not tolerate any corruption-related activities. ThisThe statement comes following the signing of an agreement between the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to collaborate in preventing corruption.

Islamic Minister Dr. Shaheem, after signing the agreement, highlighted that corruption is forbidden in Islam, and the ministry is committed to preventing any acts of corruption, including administrative corruption, financial misconduct, and the misuse of influence. He emphasised that the ministry, responsible for essential public services such as Hajj, Umrah, Zakat, and various funds, will manage its operations with justice and kindness.

The Minister underscored the importance of properly and reliably maintaining the funds entrusted to the ministry by the public. He expressed the need for full cooperation with the ACC to ensure the proper execution of the ministry's responsibilities.

President of ACC, Adam Shamil, acknowledged that the commission's work against corruption and mismanagement relies on collaboration. He expressed confidence in the full cooperation of the ministry in the commission's efforts.

The agreement between the ACC and the ministry aims to establish and implement a feedback process for the exchange of technical assistance and information. It also outlines procedures for sharing information with the media and other stakeholders regarding the joint activities of the two institutions. This collaboration seeks to strengthen the preventive measures against corruption in various aspects of the ministry's functions.
