The Maldives Customs Service has launched four new services aimed at expanding and strengthening its services. The services were inaugurated by Commissioner of Customs Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed during a ceremony held at the Customs Head Office in Male' City.
The newly introduced services encompass online case declaration, advanced e-agency permits, online trader statistics, and a courier cargo management system. Commissioner Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed emphasised during the ceremony that the services are geared towards enhancing accessibility and efficiency for the public. He also said that the Customs is transitioning its operations towards digital platforms, striving for a paperless workflow wherever feasible.
The online case declaration service enables swift submission of declarations by customers, while the Courier Cargo Management System facilitates real-time tracking of packages upon arrival in the Maldives, particularly benefiting online importers. In addition, obtaining advance e-agency permits essential for Customs clearance is now seamlessly accessible through the Customs portal, significantly expediting the clearance process. Another addition is the online statistics service tailored for businesses, offering convenient access to statistical data anytime.
The services are aimed at bolstering the Customs service, streamlining processes for customers, and fostering an eco-friendly environment for business operators.
