Mosque to be built in Hulhumale' Phase II for Ramadan

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated that one of the permanent mosques being built in Hulhumale' Phase II will be completed by Ramadan.

Minister Shaheem has inspected the progress of the mosques being built in Phase II and have inquired about the preparations for the coming Ramadan. During the site inspections, the Minister said that the President has prioritised expediting the completion of the mosques. Therefore, he said the construction of the mosques is being closely monitored.

Additionally, Minister Shaheem said that the mosque being built with a capacity of 1,500 people will be completed by Ramadan and that all the mosques will be built within two years. He noted that some of the projects have been ongoing for years and that the President aims to help the contractors expedite their work.

Other mosques being built in Hulhumale' Phase II include a mosque with a capacity of 2,800 people, a mosque with a capacity of 3,000, a mosque with a capacity of 1,500 and a mosque with a capacity of 1,162. Minister Shaheem said that these mosques are being carried out with the generous assistance of benefactors, noting the support received from the private parties in such matters. He also said that imams for the second phase mosques will be chosen from among the residents.
