President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared the Ras Male project is progressing without any expenses from the state budget. Speaking at the distinguished "Kangathi Award 2023" ceremony at Dharubaaruge, the President envisioned Ras Male as a distinctive city, both within the Maldives and on the global stage.

Drawing inspiration from Maldivian history, the President emphasised the importance of decisions aligning with the welfare of the people and the nation. He pledged a policy focused on decisions that benefit both the citizens and the country, underscoring his commitment to a fair and people-centric approach.

Addressing the prevalent housing concerns raised during the presidential campaign, President Muizzu outlined his goal of eliminating the need for anyone to struggle with housing. The ongoing dredging project aims to create a modern city dedicated to resolving this issue, he added.

Expressing dismay over the parliamentary budget cut for the critical initiative, the president assured resilience against attempts to impede projects crucial for the people's welfare. He asserted that Ras Male will evolve into a vibrant and exemplary city, gaining recognition worldwide.

President Dr. Muizzu provided updates on the ongoing dredging work for Rasmala's development, reiterating that the project remains self-funded without utilizing the state budget. He affirmed the completion of the project under these financial arrangements.

Committing to always stand by the people, President Muizzu pledged to be attuned to their needs and voices. Encouraging councils to work diligently in serving the public, he urged decisions that prioritise the best interests of the country and its people.
