The Parliament of the Maldives has granted approval for an extension of the third session for this year.
Originally set to run from August 1 to November, as per parliamentary regulations, the session faced a backlog of pending work. As such, a vote was initiated to extend the ongoing session and received unanimous approval with 43 members voting in favor.
It marks the second occasion this year that the Parliament has approved an extension of the third session. Previously, the ongoing session had already been extended until December 6.
