The President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has engaged in a constructive meeting with the Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and the First Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates, focused on fortifying the existing relations between the Maldives and China.
During the discussions, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed his keen interest in deepening the bilateral ties between the two nations. Recognising China as one of the Maldives' crucial development partners, the president expressed optimism about heightened Chinese cooperation for the Maldives' future development endeavors.
Ding Xuexiang, in turn, extended heartfelt congratulations to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on the commencement of his new presidential term. The First Vice Premier reaffirmed China's unwavering commitment to maintaining robust and collaborative ties with the Maldives. He expressed confidence that under President Dr. Muizzu's leadership, the relationship between the Maldives and China will not only endure but flourish.
Emphasising China's continuous support for the growth and prosperity of the Maldives, Ding Xuexiang articulated optimism regarding the trajectory of the Maldives-China relationship throughout President Dr. Muizzu’s tenure.
