The Maldives has reiterated its unwavering support to Palestine.
During a meeting with Ambassador of Palestine to the Maldives Walid A.M. Abu Ali, President Muizzu expressed his unwavering support and affirmed that the Maldivian people and government continue to stand behind the Palestinians in their quest for recognition and dignity. He also strongly condemned the current aggression of the Israeli military on Gaza and the Palestinian people.
Additionally, President Muizzu expressed his commitment to support establishing an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders and to promote peace and stability in the region. In addition, the President and the Palestinian Ambassador engaged in a discussion regarding the dire circumstances in Gaza and other regions of Palestine as a result of the ongoing siege, emphasising the need for immediate ceasefire and action to rectify the situation at large.
Concluding the call, the President and the Ambassador reiterated their commitment to strengthening brotherly relations and cooperation.
