Attitudes towards people with disabilities have changed: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that the attitudes towards people with disabilities have changed and that they are more accepted by society. He made the remark at the Fun Fair event held to mark the silver jubilee of the Care Society of Maldives.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Naseem noted that society's attitude towards people with disabilities has changed since the establishment of Care Society 25 years ago. He said that the level of public awareness has increased due to the efforts of individuals, organisations, and government agencies. He also highlighted the importance of helping those most in need in the community, adding that anything can be achieved with friendship and unity.

Additionally, Chairperson of the Executive Board of Care Society Ismail Adhuham said that the most important work of the organisation since its establishment has been to make people with special needs part of society. As such, he said that society has become more inclusive due to the efforts of individuals, organisations, and government agencies.

During the Fun Fair, Care Society launched a special song to celebrate its 25th anniversary. In addition, Vice President Naseem visited the various stalls and viewed the stage performances at the event.
