Gov't concludes surveyor training on motor vessel safety

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has successfully concluded a training programme for surveyors, focusing on enhancing the safety and security of motor vessels.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the programme, Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation Ahmed Zuhair highlighted the significance of the programme in safeguarding vessels, passengers, and cargo during. He also mentioned the responsibility that comes with obtaining a certificate, noting the crucial role of surveyors in ensuring safety.

Meanwhile, Minister of State at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Ali Solih underscored that being a surveyor goes beyond a job and it is about protecting lives, property, and vessels. He stressed the crucial role surveyors play in ensuring the safety and security of numerous individuals, underscoring the significance of their meticulousness in carrying out their responsibilities.

The programme aimed to raise awareness of motor vessel laws, related regulations in the transport sector, and improve the quality of surveys and surveyors. The programme was conducted from October 22-26 and involved 35 participants. The participants also received training on surveying vessels in the islands.
