The Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has announced that it is seeking trainers to disseminate the Census 2022 data to the atolls and educate individuals on its use. MBS conducted the census from September to October last year, with the data made public on March 30 this year.
MBS is actively preparing atoll profiles based on the census results and is in need of 20 trainers for the 2022 Census Dissemination team. The trainers will be responsible for sharing the census data with the atolls and instructing them on the effective use of Census 2022 data. Interested candidates are encouraged to complete the online trainer application form via the MBS website by 1400hrs on November 2.
MBS has outlined a three-day training programme for the selected individuals who will be part of the 2022 Census Dissemination team. Following the initial training, a two-day programme will be conducted in the atolls. The participants will receive an allowance during the training period and for the days dedicated to the job. The allowance will be disbursed upon the completion of both training and assigned tasks.
The nationwide census is conducted every 10 years to assess the situation of the country and collect information to facilitate the planning of future projects. The Census 2022 included the collection of data on businesses and agencies, distinguishing it from previous instances.
