The Maldives National Party (MNP) has decided to field candidates for upcoming elections together with the coalition of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC).
Speaking at a meeting, President of MNP Mohamed Nazim said that the party has signed an agreement to work with the PPM/PNC coalition for the next five years. The agreement includes a clause on the three parties contesting together in the upcoming elections. Therefore, the three parties will hold a primary prior to every election and endorse the winner.
Additionally, Nazim highlighted the role of MNP in helping Dr. Mohamed Muizzu win in the second round of the presidential election with a huge lead. He assured that MNP will give its full support to his administration for the next five years.
Furthermore, Nazim said that the MNP national council will soon be provided with details of the agreement with the PPM/PNC coalition. He added that MNP will continue to work for the welfare of the country.
