Australia commends pro-Maldives foreign policy of new administration

Australia has commended the pro-Maldives foreign policy of the new administration. The remark was made by Ambassador of Australia to the Maldives Paul Wesley Stephens during his meeting with President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Vice President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, President-elect Dr. Muizzu and Ambassador Stephens discussed further strengthening the bilateral relationship between Australia and the Maldives. Dr. Muizzu also expressed optimism about elevating the relationship to new heights during his tenure.

Additionally, Dr. Muizzu took the opportunity to extend gratitude to the Government of Australia for its support in providing educational opportunities and contributing to the development of human resources in the Maldives. He highlighted the existing strong ties between the two nations across various sectors and expressed his desire for these connections to grow and solidify further under his administration.

In his remarks, Ambassador Stephens assured the Maldives of Australia's complete support and collaboration in strengthening bilateral relations. He also commended the pro-Maldives foreign policy of the new administration.
