Fifteen committees formed to handle gov't transition

The Office of the President-elect has announced the formation of 15 committees to handle the transition of government.

At a press conference, Spokesperson Firuzul Abdulla Khaleel said that the Office of the President-elect is prepared to gather the relevant information from government offices and institutions for the transfer of power. As such, he said that the transitional committees have been given the necessary training to collect information and share it with the President-elect. He detailed that seven committees will collect information from state-owned companies and eight committees will collect information from other government institutions.

Additionally, Spokesperson Firuzul highlighted that the incumbent President and state agencies have been providing their full cooperation during the transition process, which is progressing quickly and efficiently. He added that the committees will give top priority to gathering information on the agreements drafted by the government.

Furthermore, Spokesperson Firuzul said that the Office of the President-elect is formulating its plan for the first 100 days of the new administration and that details will be announced in the next few days. He added that the formation of the cabinet and appointments of heads of various state-owned companies are also underway.
