HDC bans vessels, except jet skis, in Hulhumale' channel

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has implemented a regulation on the use of any motor vessels, with the exception of jet skis, within the channel area between Hulhumale' Phase I and II.

HDC has specified that the the eastern lagoon and channel area located in Hulhumale' will be exclusively reserved for swimming and water sports activities, such as canoeing and jet skiing. HDC further outlined that jet skis will only be permitted to cross the channel at slow speeds for east-to-west or west-to-east crossings. HDC stated that any other form of use within the area is strictly prohibited, and has warned of consequences for violations of the regulations.

HDC stated that the channel between Hulhumale' Phase I and II is designed to facilitate the flow of water, measuring 1.85m in depth and 50m in width.
