Maldives and Honduras Sign Visa Waiver Agreement

The Maldives and Honduras have formalised a visa waiver agreement marking a significant step in facilitating travel between the two nations. The visa waiver agreement was signed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, and Eduardo Enrique Reina, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras, at a signing ceremony in New York, United States of America (USA).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Maldivian citizens traveling to Honduras will now be eligible for a visa on arrival, eliminating the need for them to secure a visa in advance. The new arrangement allows both Maldivians and Hondurans to obtain an on-arrival visa, granting them the privilege of staying in either country for a maximum period of 30 days upon arrival.

During the signing ceremony, State Minister Khaleel expressed his gratitude to the government of Honduras for their dedicated efforts in bolstering the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He conveyed his optimism that this agreement would further enhance the ties between the people of both countries across various sectors.
