Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the presidential candidate of the People's National Congress (PNC), has pledged to reduce the rent of apartments from Vinares flats in Hulhumale' Phase II.
At a campaign event held in Male' City, Dr. Muizzu said under his government he will give top priority to housing sector policies. He said that Urbanco would still profit from the project even with a rent reduction. As such, he said the down payment and monthly payments of the Vinares flats will be reduced.
Additionally, Muizzu pledged to reduce the rent of flats built by state-owned enterprises (SOEs) for their staff under the Hiyaa Housing Project.
