High Court facilitates easier means to submit election complaints

The High Court of the Maldives has facilitated easier means by which individuals can submit complaints regarding the presidential election.

The High Court has the responsibility to review the complaints during the presidential election on September 9. As such, the court will have its counter open for complaints from 0900hrs to 2200hrs on September 9 and 10. Afterward, the counter will be open from 0900hrs to 1500hrs and 2000hrs to 2300hrs every day except Fridays.

The High Court will also accept complaints submitted to [email protected] and individuals can call 7902206 for further inquiries. Individuals are required to divulge all relevant information when submitting a complaint such as the reason for the submission, details of the complaint, and the supporting evidence.

The High Court is required to accept complaints for 14 days after the official election results are announced including on government holidays. The complaint form is available for download from the website of the High Court.
