Faris asks for sincere votes only

Independent presidential candidate Faris Maumoon has asked for sincere votes of free will, advocating for a shift from the current system to one rooted in justice.

In a special programme, Faris expressed the need for equitable and transparent decision-making in governance. He highlighted that the Maldives is experiencing record-high revenue and boasts a more educated population than ever before, contributing to increased prosperity. He noted that the citizens are now more aware of their surroundings and the loss of freedom that was enjoyed for centuries.

Additionally, Faris pointed out the lack of economic and food security in the Maldives, expressing concern over the vulnerability of the nation's economy, heavily reliant on tourism. He criticised the state's approach to building the economy and its failure to protect against shocks in the global market, resulting in increased poverty.

Furthermore, Faris asserted that leaders should prioritise the welfare of the citizens over pleasing specific groups or countries. He also pledged to appoint capable individuals and create an impartial system free from external influences, aligning with the desires of the public.
