Independent presidential candidate Hassan Zameel has asserted that the key to resolving all issues in the country lies in eradicating corruption.
During the presidential debate, Zameel stated that he perceives corruption as the root issue affecting various sectors in the country, including the healthcare sector. He firmly believes that it is possible to address and resolve all the challenges faced by the nation by eliminating corruption.
Additionally, Zameel pointed out that the current administration came to power with a promise to investigate the corruption scandal involving the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), yet no concrete solution has been achieved in the five years that have passed. He highlighted the disparity between income and salaries among the population and stressed the need to combat corruption within the national health insurance provider, Aasandha Company Limited.
Furthermore, Zameel has outlined a comprehensive set of measures to combat corruption in his manifesto and has pledged to take the necessary actions to establish justice as a cornerstone of his governance policy.
