Mohamed Nazim, the presidential candidate of the Maldives National Party (MNP), has pledged to reclaim the Dhiyanaru Falhu in Kaafu Atoll to establish bunkering services.
At a campaign event, Nazim noted that liveaboards in Hulhumale' have been ordered to vacate and expressed concern over the boats not having any place to dock. He pledged to reclaim Dhiyanaru, allow liveaboards to affordably dock in the area, and establish other services for ships such as bunkering.
Additionally, Nazim said that various measures have been taken to inconvenience Maldivian travel agents. He pledged to put an end to the measures and regulate online bookings. He also said that he would provide training opportunities for Maldivians to dominate the liveaboard business.
