Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has reported a total of 20 corruption cases associated with the upcoming presidential election scheduled for September 9.
ACC stated that election-related corruption cases should be directed to the commission. According to ACC, four cases were found to be eligible for formal registration out of the 20 cases of election-related corruption that have been submitted, while it also rejected 14 cases. Among the four cases that were accepted for further action, one case involved the improper use of state property, while the remaining three cases are currently undergoing investigative processes.
ACC has launched a dedicated online portal for reporting cases of bribery. The commission has conveyed that corruption-related cases have been submitted through this portal as well as alternative methods. Furthermore, the portal will serve as an educational resource, offering insights into the nature of electoral bribery and precautions to take against it. The portal has been meticulously designed to safeguard user information, while updates on cases will be communicated to users in a discreet and anonymous manner.
