RTL will be connected to Laamu Atoll this year: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that Laamu Atoll will be connected to the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service this year to pave the way for the development of tourism in the region.

At a campaign event in Maabaidhoo, President Solih highlighted the importance of a modern transport system for the development of local tourism and assured that the islands in Laamu Atoll will be connected to the RTL ferry service before the end of the year. He expressed his belief that Laamu Atoll possesses an immense natural beauty that is not being utilised to its fullest potential. He emphasised that the ferry service would amplify investment opportunities for local tourism.

Additionally, President Solih detailed his plan for Maabaidhoo, which includes the development of roads and upgrading the health centre into a 24hr healthcare provider. He also pledged to develop a beach area, gym, and youth centre on the island, as well as construct shore protection structures.
