Nazim pledges to issue long-term loans to build fishing vessels

The presidential candidate of the Maldives National Party (MNP) Mohamed Nazim has pledged to introduce special schemes to issue long-term loans to assist in building fishing vessels. He made the remark while addressing a campaign rally in Gan, Laamu Atoll.

At the rally, Nazim emphasised the community's need for contemporary boats featuring modern amenities. As such, he said MNP will introduce special programmes to issue long-term loans to fishing vessels. Furthermore, Nazim highlighted the plan to equip fishing vessels with Refrigerated Sea Water (RSW) systems at lower costs. He also pledged to launch adventure tourism in Laamu Atoll and to internationalise the Kadhdhoo airport.

Nazim is touring Laamu Atoll and visiting five islands as part of his campaign before heading to Thaa Atoll. His campaign includes 21 islands across five atolls in the southern region.
