Muizzu pledges to develop tourism in Haa Dhaalu Atoll

Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the presidential candidate of the People's National Congress (PNC), has pledged to develop tourism in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

At a campaign event in Kulhudhuffushi City, Muizzu detailed his socio-economic policies, which include providing entrepreneurial and business opportunities for Maldivians. He highlighted that Haa Dhaalu Atoll is in need of local tourism development and that such an initiative will be commenced in the administration of PNC and the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM).

Additionally, Muizzu pledged to establish an investment bank to fast-track projects in the Maldives and retain funds within the country. He also pledged to provide more opportunities for private companies and put an end to projects being given to a select few companies. He added that he will pass the relevant laws to safeguard such opportunities in the private sector.

Furthermore, Muizzu said that commercial banks will provide loans with interest rates lower than 5% to build housing under his administration. He also said that he will provide opportunities for citizens with land plots to build homes and resume stalled housing projects.

During his campaign tour, Muizzu also visited Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll and assured the residents that he has no intention of stopping the Hanimaadhoo International Airport Development Project. He said that the project will benefit the island and the region and that PPM and PNC prioritise development with projects that benefit the people. As such, he said that he will not stop any ongoing projects that are beneficial if he is elected President.

During his trip to Haa Alifu Atoll and Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Muizzu is joined by his running mate, Parliamentarian Hussain Mohamed Latheef, and the leadership of the main opposition coalition. Muizzu is visiting the islands to provide details of his manifesto and listen to the concerns of the people.
