Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has hosted a roadshow series in Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh in India.
The event focused predominantly on connecting with tour operators and travel agents from the Indian market, strengthening trade relationships, and maintaining India as one of the top source markets for the Maldives. It also aimed to elevate individual products and experiences, aligned with MMPRC's strategies for the Indian market. The first roadshow was held in Lucknow on July 17, the second roadshow in Jaipur on July 19, followed by a third roadshow on July 20 in Chandigarh.
A total of 22 renowned companies from the Maldivian tourism industry took part in the roadshow, presenting their unique products and services to the Indian market. The participation of so many high-profile travel and tourism companies in the event further spotlights the dedication of the Maldives’ tourism sector towards the preferences of the Indian market, the country's top source market for the past three years.
Additionally, MMPRC conducted raffles during the roadshow series and the lucky winner at Lucknow was gifted a free two-day stay at Cinnamon Hotel and Resort. For the raffle held during the roadshows in Jaipur and Chandigarh, the winner from each roadshow was gifted a stay at the JW Marriott and Robinson Maldives respectively.
India has been the top source market for the Maldives post COVID-19. It is currently the number-two source market to the Maldives with a total of 171,131 arrivals as of July 16. This date was also the day that the Maldives celebrated achieving the momentous milestone of one million tourist arrivals for the year.
MMPRC continues to reinforce Maldivian presence in the Indian market through a 360-degree marketing approach. The ongoing marketing activities in 2023 include the joint digital campaigns with prominent publications and influencer familiarisation trips. More marketing activities are planned for the remaining five months, including advertisement with top publications, familiarisation trips, JMPs and retail activation with top brands. The marketing efforts by MMPRC demonstrate its commitment in sharing unique and unforgettable experiences available in the Maldives.
