Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building opened

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has inaugurated the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building in Male' City, a facility named in honor of Sergeant Adam Haleem, who lost his life in the line of duty.

The opening ceremony was conducted by Minister of Home Affairs, Imran Abdulla, in the presence of Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed, and other senior police officers.

Sergeant Adam Haleem tragically passed away on July 23, 2012, while en route to the Kaashidhoo Police Station. He was fatally stabbed by a man he was attempting to apprehend for violating the terms of his house arrest. Sergeant Haleem had dedicated seven years of service to the MPS. In recognition of his sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the President's medal and his selfless dedication and unwavering sense of duty were honored with promotion from the rank of Police Lance Corporal to the rank of Police Sergeant.
