The Crime Prevention and Public Affairs division of the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly implement the Community Safety Partnership Programme activities for the period of 2023-2024.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Iskandar School Building and involved Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ali Rasheed, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MPL, Shahid Ali.
Deputy Commissioner Rasheed expressed gratitude to MPL for its continuous support in various awareness programs conducted by the MPS. He acknowledged that these programs play a significant role in assisting the youth in contributing to a better and safer society.
CEO Shahid Ali highlighted that the agreement signifies the confidence placed in MPL to effectively implement various crime reduction programs in collaboration with the MPS.
Since 2019, more than 3,000 individuals have participated in the Community Safety Partnership Programme activities. The primary goal of these programs is to enhance social awareness, foster the development of responsible youth, and contribute to the creation of a crime-free society. Under the newly signed agreement, diverse crime reduction initiatives will be carried out in Male' City and across the country.
