Ministry of Higher Education has stated that 211 students have been awarded scholarships under the Professional Accountants Training Scholarship 2023.
A total of 211 applicants have been awarded scholarships under the scheme, which were 50 from the public category and 161 from the open category. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan handed over the scholarships to the recipients at a ceremony.
The scholarship scheme was opened to train accountants certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Candidates will have the opportunity to pursue ACCA Skills Level and Professional Level courses, as well as CIMA Management Level and Strategic Level courses.
This marks the second time that the government has offered scholarship opportunities for training chartered professional accountants, with 173 students being awarded scholarships last year. The eligibility for this scholarship is exclusively for Maldivians, reflecting the government's commitment to fostering local talent in the accounting sector.
