National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) has announced that Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) now uses the eFaas application for easier and more secure login.
Minister of State for Environment, Climate Change and Technology Mohamed Shareef said that many customers who were previously unable to access banking services will now have access with the integration of MIB into eFaas,
Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MIB Ahmed Riza said the bank is committed to enhancing service quality with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. He, therefore, said that the possibility of fraud and deception will significantly be reduced with the integration of MIB into eFaas.
MIB stated that customers can open an account through the MIB Apply Now Portal through the eFaas application. MIB stated that users have to go through a verification process when requesting to open an account. The bank also stated that customers can also apply for MIB Everyday Visa and MIB Visa Platinum Card through the portal.
The eFaas application was developed by the NCIT and serves as the digital ID system used by government and state agencies to provide online services. NCIT has added security features to the application to protect user information.
MIB began providing services 12 years ago in the Maldives and there is a large population that does not have access to the bank's services. Many customers have to travel far to open an account and is not a solution in terms of business or public service.
