Night test flight lands at Kulhudhuffushi Airport

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has revealed that the test flight has successfully landed at Kulhudhuffushi Airport, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

This government has developed the airport to allow flights to be operated at night. As such, a test flight landed at the airport to prepare for night flights.

Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Managing Director Aishath Jennifer said that preparation for night flights is underway. She also said that the aim is to begin flights by the end of the week.

Four of the six airports operated by Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) currently conduct night flights. They include airports in Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Faresmaathoda in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City. RACL said efforts are underway to by establishing night landing systems to arrange night flights in Hoarafushi in Haa Alifu Atoll and Maavarulu in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

The night flights to Kulhudhuffushi Airport will be arranged during the development of Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
