Major Hussain Rasheed has been appointed as the new Information Officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Major Hussain Rasheed was appointed as the new Information Officer on March 26 following the departure of former Captain Hana Mohamed to participate in an oversea training programme.
The Information Officer is the official provider of information about the force to the media. MNDF stated that it was prohibited for any officer to give information to any media in their personal capacity. MNDF also stated that such information will be given by the designated information officer or to an individual authorised by the Integrated Headquarters (IHQ).
