The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has urged the public to take steps to protect their property during the month of Ramadan.
MPS advised the public to lock their doors and windows before leaving their homes and to store laptops, tablets, wallets, and other valuable belongings in a secure location within the home to prevent theft. It also advised individuals to protect themselves from muggings while outside and secure their personal belongings at mosques.
Additionally, MPS stated that office buildings and stores should also keep their doors and windows locked and store their cash in a secure location. The police service urged each individual to be responsible for their personal belongings to prevent theft and to support officers in their efforts to maintain public peace.
