New Galolhu Police Station officially opened

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has officially inaugurated the new building of Galolhu Police Station. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Ali Rasheed and officers from Galolhu Police Station.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) said Galolhu Police Station is now located at the building that previously housed the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA). MPS said it is renting the building for a period of two and a half years.

Galolhu Police Station was previously located at the Male’ Hiyaa housing complex. MPS stated the building was worn down and could no longer be considered an appropriate location to provide public service.

MPS stated that response officers, investigation officers, and neighbourhood officers will be working under the same building. MPS also stated the shift in location would further strengthen services provided to residents of the area.

Previously, MPS has also relocated the Maafannu Police Station to a building near West Park.
