The Maldives and Italy have discussed renewing the focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Italy Dr. Asim Ahmed held the discussion after presenting his Letter of Credence to President of Italy Sergio Mattarella.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Asim conveyed greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to President Mattarella and the people of Italy. Ambassador Asim further expressed commitment to work closely with the government of Italy during his tenure with a renewed focus on enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
During his visit to Italy, Ambassador Asim met with officials from the Italian government and discussed ways to further strengthen the traditional, close and friendly relations between the two countries. He was accompanied by Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations Hassan Hussain Shihab.
