President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that more focus should be devoted to bridging the gender digital divide.
In a tweet on International Women’s Day, President Solih said women play an irreplaceable role in uplifting communities, and that more focus should be devoted to bridging the gender digital divide to ensure women are empowered to shape the digital future.
International Women's Day is held on March 8 to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The purpose of the day is to uphold women’s achievements, recognise challenges, and focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality to mobilise all people to do their part. This year’s theme is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.
