Maldives Immigration has revealed that a record number of tourists visited the Maldives in February 2023 which is the highest number of tourists to visit the Maldives in the month of February in the past five years.
The statistics from the Maldives Immigration show that more than 177,000 tourists visited the Maldives in February this year which is a 3.1% increase compared to January this year.
The statistics show that 168،583 tourists arrived in the Maldives in February 2019, 149،785 visitors arrived in February 2020, 96،882 visitors arrived in February 2021, 149،008 visitors arrived in February 2022, and 177،915 visitors arrived in February 2023. The statistics also show that a daily average of 6,354 visited the Maldives in February.
There were more tourists in February compared to previous years due to the efforts of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and the stakeholders of the tourism sector. As such, the Maldives has won the world's most popular tourist destination award for three consecutive years.
