The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has revealed the Dharubaaruge convention centre in Male' City will be allocated as the main venue for the presidential election.
Speaking to PSM News, Vice President of ECM Ismail Habeeb said that the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure had arranged Dharubaaruge as the headquarters for the election. He said any repairs to the building will be completed within March and the venue will be used for election activities from April 25.
ECM used the old Jamaluddin School building as the headquarters in the previous presidential election. However, the construction of the new Arabiyya School building is underway at the premises.
The presidential election is scheduled to take place on September 9.
