The Ministry of Finance has revealed that it will be holding the State Internal Audit Conference 2023. The conference will be held from March 1-2 at the Dharubaaruge convention centre.
Speaking to PSM News, Member of the State Internal Audit Committee Aishath Abdulla said the conference will focus on audit procedure and related technical and administrative matters. She said that 300 state officials will be participating in the conference, along with 400 representatives of local councils and online participants.
Additionally, Aishath said the purpose of the conference is to facilitate a venue for auditors to discuss their work and share solutions to problems. She highlighted the importance of senior officials of the finance ministry sharing their experience and knowledge to auditors.
Meanwhile, Audit Specialist at the Finance Ministry Mohamed Zaeem said the conference will allow the ministry to strengthen the state’s audit system and administrative audit functions. He noted that such conferences are held in other countries and that many state institutions have requested that a conference be held in the Maldives.
