The Maldives and Sweden have expressed their commitment to further strengthen the long-standing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. The statement was made after the Ambassador of Sweden to the Maldives Jan Thesleff, presented his Letter of Credence to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
At the meeting held at the President's Office, President Solih congratulated Ambassador Thesleff on his new appointment and reaffirmed the close bilateral ties between the two countries. Ambassador Thesleff also noted that many Maldivian students are pursuing higher education in Swedish institutions.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
