President receives 4 Nations Cup volleyball team jersey

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has received the jersey of the Maldives' national volleyball team competing in the 4 Nations Cup, the first international sporting event hosted in the Maldives this year. Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof, presented the jersey to the president at a function held at the President's Office.

The national volleyball teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Afghanistan, and the Maldives will compete in the men's division, while the women's volleyball teams from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Maldives will compete in the tournament. It is the first invitation-only volleyball tournament hosted by the Maldives. The tournament will be held at the Maldives Center for Social Education (MCSE) from February 23-27, 2023.

International sporting events are being hosted in the Maldives as a pledge of President Solih's administration. The administration is also working towards providing equal opportunities for the development of all sports.

Under these efforts, the Maldives volleyball teams are holding sports camps for the first time in Europe and the Middle East. The men's and women's national volleyball teams are currently in Thailand in preparation for the 4 Nations Cup.
