HDC to share CCTV data with MPS

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Maldives Police Service (MPS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share CCTV surveillance data at the Hiya Towers.

The MoU was signed by Managing Director of HDC Ahmed Athif and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed. The agreement allows MPS access to the live footage of CCTVs installed in and around the 16 Hiya Towers. MPS stated that the partnership will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of incident response and investigations, creating a safer environment for the community.

Hiya is the largest public housing project in Hulhumale' Phase II with over 35,000 residents. Many of the residents have expressed concern over the lack of security in the area, which had led to cases of theft and drug-related crimes.
