President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent greetings on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka.
On the occasion of Sri Lanka’s 75th Independence Day, President Solih sent greetings and best wishes to the Sri Lankan people, the President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe and the government of Sri Lanka. The president expressed the Maldives will long continue to cherish the fraternal ties of friendship enjoyed with Sri Lanka.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid arrived in Sri Lanka on February 2 to attend the Independence Day celebrations. Besides attending Independence Day celebrations, the minister will meet Sri Lankan President Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Foreign Minister Ali Sabri.
The minister will also meet with Maldivians living in Sri Lanka during his visit.
