Maldives condemns violent attacks in Jenin by Israel

The government of the Maldives has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks carried out in the West Bank city and camp of Jenin by Israel, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries to innocent Palestinian civilians.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government and people of the Maldives express heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the Israeli aggression in the Jenin refugee camp, and wish a swift recovery for the injured. The statement said the Maldives remains deeply concerned by the disproportionate and excessive use of force by Israel on unarmed civilians, including women and children in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, the Maldives reiterated its firm position that finding long-lasting peace in the Middle East, rests with reaching a comprehensive agreement on a two-state solution, with the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The government and people of the Maldives stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, in their legitimate struggle for self-determination.
